Rusche composed music for violin, cello, piano, and percussion (marimba, suspended cymbal, vibraphone) with variously repeated patterns and textures that moved from musical warm at the opening of the composition to musical hot at the end. After receiving the score and mp3 file, Kouri responded to the composition with a sequential work visually representing the arc of the music, while using visual aspects of the printed score as an aesthetic guideline.
